Quick and Easy Porridge to Start Your Day

Updated: Mar 20, 2020

Serves 2 | Prep 5 minutes - Cook Time 10 minutes

Breakfast time has always looked quite boring growing up.. just give me some buttered toast and I’m good!

However, with time, research and of course - self study, I’ve come to realise just how important the first meal of the day really is. It sets the foundations for our entire day!

Whether we are aware of it or not, it can even influence our mood. And who doesn't want to feel good. Especially first thing in the morning!

Oats are incredibly nutritious, packed with vitamins, and make for a delicious, and filling breakfast!

I love making this recipe the night before, so that in the morning I can just wake up, warm up, and enjoy my meal. Try batch cooking and storing in the fridge until ready to eat. It really is that simple!

Ingredients

Half Cup Organic Rolled Oats

2 Cups Milk (I love mine with unsweetened Almond milk)

1 tbsp Chia Seeds

2 Pitted Majori Dates

Fresh fruit and Nut butter optional

Method

1. Measure oats, milk and chia seeds then pour into a cooking pan.

2. Bring to boil, then turn hob to lowest setting. Stir regularly to avoid mixture sticking to pan, for about 10 minutes.

3. Serve as it is (yummy enough!) or with fresh fruit and nut butter.

*Instead of dates, why not try Agave or Maple syrup? Just depends how sweet you like it!
